Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, a Wind Horse representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure until the evening. Later in the evening, there will be a briefing regarding the schedules for your upcoming days. If you have any questions regarding the trek you can clear with your guide and also if you have missed any equipment or trekking gear, you can go for the last minute shopping after the breifing session. Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi-Trek to Pairo/Bamboo(6-7hrs drive, 3-4hrs trek)
Starting early from Kathmandu, you will head north along a winding mountainous road through stunning landscapes. Along the way, you’ll traverse picturesque villages like Trishuli and Dhunche, and arrive at Syabrubesi around past noon. Syabrubesi is located at the outskirts of the Langtang National Park.

The trail from Syabrubesi initially crosses the Bhote Koshi River, following alongside the Langtang River, involving some ascents and descents. It meanders through forests adorned with oak and rhododendron trees, occasionally offering glimpses of the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.

After about 2 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Pairo village. You can either stop at Pairo or continue another 45 minutes hike until you arrive at  Bamboo village. Overnight in Pario/Bamboo.

Day 3: Trek to Thangshyap(3140m, 4-5hrs)
Leaving Bamboo behind, it is a gradual uphill climb towards Rimche with stunning views of the pristine landscape of the Langtang valley.

As you ascend further, the views become spectacular, with the snow-capped peaks and pristine landscapes constantly captivating your senses. The trail continues through Ghoda Tabela, renowned for its picturesque pasturelands where yaks graze against the backdrop of the Himalayas.

Continuing along the ascending path, you’ll eventually reach Thangshyap, a charming village nestled amidst the mountains. Overnight in Thangshyap

Day 4: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa(3870m/5-6hrs)
The trek from Thangshyap takes you through a picturesque landscape past small villages, lush meadows, and yak herder camps. Along the route, you’ll come across water mills, prayer wheels, and chortens, as you progress toward Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is a beautiful village surrounded by awe-inspiring views of majestic peaks such as Ganchenpo, Langtang Lirung, Langsisa, Dorje Lhakpa, Yala Peak, and more.

After lunch, we will go on a hike to the Kayanjin Ri(4700m). This vantage point promises an awe-inspiring panorama of the entire Langtang Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. After enjoying the views, you will slowly hike down to Kyanjin Gompa concluding our journey for the day. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 5: Excursion to Tserko Ri(5033m)-Trek to Langtang Village(6-7hrs)
We’ll start our hike to Tserko Ri early in the morning, aiming to witness the sunrise over the mountains. Initially, the trail begins with a brief flat hike that swiftly transforms into a steep climb. The hike is challenging, but the reward that awaits it is worth the challenge.

The summit of Tserko Ri offers outstanding views encompassing Langtang Lirung, Langtang II, Yala Peak, and the entire Langtang Valley. After relishing the natural beauty and tranquility from the summit, we’ll descend to Kyanjin Gompa for lunch. Following our meal, we’ll embark on an easy hike, following the winding trail to Langtang village. Overnight in Langtang Village.

Day 6: Trek to Riverside(4-5hrs)
Today’s journey involves retracing our steps along the same path we traversed earlier, passing through Thangshyap and Lama hotel. Descending along this route, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks and the surrounding landscape. The downhill trail provides a different perspective, allowing you to appreciate the scenery from a new vantage point.

The journey takes you through forests and villages once more, providing opportunities to soak in the natural beauty and observe local life along the way. As most of the trail is downhill, the trek back to Riverside will be quicker than expected. Overnight in riverside.

Day 7: Trek to Syabrubesi(3-4hrs)-Drive to Kathmandu(6-7hrs)
The trail descends from Riverside towards Syabrubesi, retracing the same path taken earlier. You will pass by familiar landscapes, and villages, and arrive at Syabrubesi around noon. With a satisfying lunch at Syabrubesi, your Langtang Valley adventure officially comes to an end. The journey back to Kathmandu will be arranged in a private vehicle, concluding the memorable trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 8: Departure
It is time to say goodbye. You will be transferred to the airport to catch your departure flight. Have a safe and pleasant journey ahead.

  • 5 nights’ accommodation in tea house lodge during the trek.
