From Low Camp the trek progresses towards the High Camp, and then ascends to its pinnacle, the Mardi Himal Base Camp, where breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South awaits you. You then descend to Siding village from the High Camp taking a different route and then drive to Pokhara.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, a representative from Wind Horse will greet you and transport you to the hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure until the evening. Later in the evening, there will be a briefing outlining the schedule for the upcoming days. If you have any inquiries about the trek, you can discuss them with your guide. Day 2: Drive to Pokhara(201km/6-7hrs)
The drive to Pokhara is a picturesque journey that unveils the stunning beauty of the Nepalese countryside. Meandering along the riverbanks, the route showcases quaint local villages, terraced farmlands, and the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you have the option to relax at the hotel or venture out to explore the lakeside area. Overnight in Pokhara.

Pokhara is a perfect place to rest and relax, renowned for its tranquil lakes, stunning mountain vistas. There is a wide array of activities available that may suit your interest, including paragliding, bungee jumping, zip-lining, mountain biking, and taking an ultralight flight.

The drive to Pokhara usually takes around 6-7 hours, but the duration can vary depending on traffic and the road condition. Option is also available to fly to Pokhara with an additional cost.

Day 3: Drive to Kande(1hr)-Trek to Rest Camp(2700m, 4-5hrs)
The journey begins with a short scenic drive for about an hour from Pokhara to Kande. Ascending from Kande, the trail traverses through Australian Camp where you’ll be greeted with stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range and the picturesque Pokhara valley.

Departing from the Australian Camp, the trail winds through a diverse landscape adorned with lush vegetation, featuring rhododendron, oak, and maple forests along the trial to the rest camp. Journeying through these vibrant forests offers a serene opportunity to deeply engage with the natural beauty and tranquility of the Annapurna region. Overnight in Rest Camp.

Day 4: Trek to Badal Danda(4-5hrs)
Beginning on an easy trail for over an hour or two brings you to the low camp. Low Camp provides one of the best views of Mt. Machhapuchre. This is also the juncture where the trail to the Forest Camp and Siding diverges. Continuing for around two hours more, you reach Badal Danda, Badal Danda offers a breathtaking 360° panorama of the surrounding mountain ranges. Overnight in Badal Danda.

Day 5: Trek to High Camp(3590m)-Excursion to Mardi Himal Base Camp(4500m, 6-7hrs in total)
The hike from Badal Danda to to Mardi Himal Base Camp is an incredible adventure that traverses varied terrain, offering breathtaking vistas along the way.

Ascending towards High Camp, you will navigate along a ridge through changing vegetation. After trekking for approximately about 2-3 hours, you arrive at the high camp, greeted by breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchre, and the Mardi Himal.

After lunch, we will head towards Mardi Himal Base Camp(4500m). The hike takes around 3 to 4 hours to reach the base camp. Once there, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama showcasing the grandeur of the majestic mountains. Following some time to soak in the surroundings and appreciate the awe-inspiring scenery, you’ll make your way back to High Camp. Overnight in High Camp.

Day 6: Trek to Siding(3hrs)-Drive to Pokhara(4hrs)
The journey from High Camp to Low Camp involves descending along the same trail that you ascended earlier. Once you reach the juncture at Low Camp, you’ll continue by following the path that leads to Siding village. At Siding village, you will board on to a private jeep and drive to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 7: Drive to Kathmandu
Retrace your drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, check into your hotel, you’ll have the rest of afternoon free. You can go for souvenir shopping or rest and relax at the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight homewards.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi-Trek to Pairo/Bamboo(6-7hrs drive, 3-4hrs trek)
Starting early from Kathmandu, you will head north along a winding mountainous road through stunning landscapes. Along the way, you’ll traverse picturesque villages like Trishuli and Dhunche, and arrive at Syabrubesi around past noon. Syabrubesi is located at the outskirts of the Langtang National Park.

The trail from Syabrubesi initially crosses the Bhote Koshi River, following alongside the Langtang River, involving some ascents and descents. It meanders through forests adorned with oak and rhododendron trees, occasionally offering glimpses of the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.

After about 2 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Pairo village. You can either stop at Pairo or continue another 45 minutes hike until you arrive at  Bamboo village. Overnight in Pario/Bamboo.

Day 3: Trek to Thangshyap(3140m, 4-5hrs)
Leaving Bamboo behind, it is a gradual uphill climb towards Rimche with stunning views of the pristine landscape of the Langtang valley.

As you ascend further, the views become spectacular, with the snow-capped peaks and pristine landscapes constantly captivating your senses. The trail continues through Ghoda Tabela, renowned for its picturesque pasturelands where yaks graze against the backdrop of the Himalayas.

Continuing along the ascending path, you’ll eventually reach Thangshyap, a charming village nestled amidst the mountains. Overnight in Thangshyap

Day 4: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa(3870m/5-6hrs)
The trek from Thangshyap takes you through a picturesque landscape past small villages, lush meadows, and yak herder camps. Along the route, you’ll come across water mills, prayer wheels, and chortens, as you progress toward Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is a beautiful village surrounded by awe-inspiring views of majestic peaks such as Ganchenpo, Langtang Lirung, Langsisa, Dorje Lhakpa, Yala Peak, and more.

After lunch, we will go on a hike to the Kayanjin Ri(4700m). This vantage point promises an awe-inspiring panorama of the entire Langtang Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. After enjoying the views, you will slowly hike down to Kyanjin Gompa concluding our journey for the day. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 5: Excursion to Tserko Ri(5033m)-Trek to Langtang Village(6-7hrs)
We’ll start our hike to Tserko Ri early in the morning, aiming to witness the sunrise over the mountains. Initially, the trail begins with a brief flat hike that swiftly transforms into a steep climb. The hike is challenging, but the reward that awaits it is worth the challenge.

The summit of Tserko Ri offers outstanding views encompassing Langtang Lirung, Langtang II, Yala Peak, and the entire Langtang Valley. After relishing the natural beauty and tranquility from the summit, we’ll descend to Kyanjin Gompa for lunch. Following our meal, we’ll embark on an easy hike, following the winding trail to Langtang village. Overnight in Langtang Village.

Day 6: Trek to Riverside(4-5hrs)
Today’s journey involves retracing our steps along the same path we traversed earlier, passing through Thangshyap and Lama hotel. Descending along this route, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks and the surrounding landscape. The downhill trail provides a different perspective, allowing you to appreciate the scenery from a new vantage point.

The journey takes you through forests and villages once more, providing opportunities to soak in the natural beauty and observe local life along the way. As most of the trail is downhill, the trek back to Riverside will be quicker than expected. Overnight in riverside.

Day 7: Trek to Syabrubesi(3-4hrs)-Drive to Kathmandu(6-7hrs)
The trail descends from Riverside towards Syabrubesi, retracing the same path taken earlier. You will pass by familiar landscapes, and villages, and arrive at Syabrubesi around noon. With a satisfying lunch at Syabrubesi, your Langtang Valley adventure officially comes to an end. The journey back to Kathmandu will be arranged in a private vehicle, concluding the memorable trek. Day 8: Departure
It is time to say goodbye. You will be transferred to the airport to catch your departure flight. Have a safe and pleasant journey ahead.

Everest Base Camp Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Fly to Lukla-Trek to Phakding(2620m, 3-4hrs, Approx. 8kms)
The mountain flight into Lukla is spectacular, and the landing is an exciting experience. One end of the runway is 60 meters higher than the other. The flight is typically on a small Dornier or Twin Otter aircraft, with a duration of around 25–30 minutes.

Upon arrival in Lukla (2800m), you will meet your Sherpa guides and porters before commencing the trek towards Phakding. Your permits will be entered and checked at the park entrance. Begin the trek by descending gradually for about 2 hours to Thado Koshi, then gradually ascend, crossing several suspension bridges, passing through villages, and finally arriving at Phakding (2610m). Overnight in Phakding

Please be advised that during the high season (March, April, May, October, and November), flights to Lukla are routed through Ramechhap (Manthali) airport, approximately a 4-5 hours’ drive away from Kathmandu. To accommodate this, you must start early (several hours before dawn around 2 am).

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3440m, 5-6hrs, Approx. 11kms)
Follow the Dudh Koshi River, passing through Sherpa settlements like Bengkar and Chumao, before entering Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. Cross the long Hillary Hanging Bridge, and as you continue the steep climb uphill, reach a resting point called Chautara, where you can catch a first glimpse of Everest through the trees.

Continue the ascent, and eventually, you’ll arrive at the bustling Namche Bazaar (3440m). This serves as the heart of the Sherpa community, providing lodges, cafes, and shops selling souvenirs and trekking gear. If you’ve forgotten anything, you can find it here. Spend the remainder of the day in Namche Bazaar acclimatizing to the altitude. Overnight in Namche Bazaar

Day 4: In Namche Bazaar(acclimatization day)
Today is our acclimatization day, and you will embark on a short hike to Syangboche Hotel Everest View, situated at 3880m, which takes about 1-2hrs. This location is renowned as one of the best vantage points, offering breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other peaks.

After relishing the panoramic scenery, a brief descent on the other side leads you to the large village of Khumjung, home to Hillary’s School. Following the visit, you will descend back to Namche, where you have the rest of the afternoon to relax or explore on your own. Overnight in Namche Bazaar

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche(3860m, 5-6hrs, Approx. 10kms)
After a short climb out of Namche Bazaar, you’ll arrive at Kyangjungma, a spot with tea shops, where the trail from Khumjung also merges. The views of Everest and Ama Dablam are excellent from this part of the trek. Continue by passing through the small settlement of Sanasa, from where the trail descends to the river at Phunki tenga (3300m).

From here, the trail ascends steeply through pine and rhododendron forests, following the side of a hill to reach the saddle on which the Tengboche Monastery sits at 3870m. On a clear day, the views are breathtaking through the rhododendron trees, showcasing the Himalayan giants such as Kwangde, Tawachee, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserku. Visit Tengboche Monastery, the largest one in the Khumbu region. Overnight in Tengboche

Day 6: Trek to Dingboche via Pangboche(4410m, 5-6hrs, Approx. 11kms)
Descend through a forest of rhododendrons, birches, and conifers to reach Deboche (3820m), a village with a few lodges and a nunnery. Cross a beautiful hanging bridge and ascend to Pangboche village (3980m). There is an option to visit Pangboche Monastery, situated higher up than the village. After passing Pangboche, the trail ascends above the tree line, entering alpine meadows of scrub juniper and, in summer, a profusion of wildflowers.

Along the way you will encounter several yak herders’ camps and, after crossing a river and ascending a small ridge, arrive at Dingboche (4410m), a large village offering outstanding mountain views. Dingboche is also the only place in the region where barley is grown, and you will see old houses scattered around. You will arrive early, so you have plenty of time to wander around. Overnight in Dingboche

Day 7: Acclimatization day(Hike to Nangkartshang hill)
At this stage of the trip, a second acclimatization day is essential due to the significant altitude gain. Hike to Nangkar Tshang, standing at nearly 5,100m, where you’ll have panoramic views of peaks such as Taboche, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. From this vantage point, enjoy vistas looking down onto the Imja and Pheriche Valleys. Afterward, return to Dingboche and spend the night there. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche(4940m, 4-5hrs, Approx. 8kms)
Leaving Dingboche, the path gently ascends through the highlands, characterized by sparse alpine shrubs. Cross a gushing stream, and after a brief climb, reach Thugla (4600m), the designated lunch stop for the day.

From Thugla, the ascent becomes steeper, passing by stone memorials adorned with colorful prayer flags, constructed in memory of departed souls of climbers. Continuing onward, after a short while, you will arrive at the small settlement of Lobuche (4950m).

The village offers massive mountain vistas of Nuptse, Lobuche, and Pumori. In the evening, you can take a stroll along the side hills to aid in acclimatization. Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek to Gorakshep(5164m)-Excursion to Everest Base Camp(6hrs, Approx. 12kms)
Today is one of the most anticipated days of the trek as you make our way to Everest Base Camp. The higher elevation makes today’s trek quite challenging. The first part of the journey involves a flat walk, and soon the trail weaves over rocky highland terrains and glaciers until you reach Gorakshep (5,164m).

Gorakshep is a small and the last permanent settlement with trekking lodges, clinging to the edge of the Khumbu Icefall. Take a short break or have lunch, and then continue further afield alongside the Khumbu glacier moraine for another hour and a half to reach Everest Base Camp (5,364m).

Congratulations on reaching the base camp! Take pictures and soak in the surrounding views of peaks, the Khumbu Glacier, Khumbu Icefalls, and the colorful expedition tents in contrast to the surroundings and retrace your steps back to Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorakshep.

Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar(3hrs round trip)-Trek to Pheriche(5-6hrs, Approx. 12kms)
Rise early for a short yet challenging hike to Kala Patthar (5,540m/18,176ft), ascending approximately 400m in an hour over a distance of mere 1.5 KM. (Note that recent measurements put Kala Patthar over 5600m.) After departing Gorakshep, the trail ascends sharply. After about a 100m climb, you’ll be treated with views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse.

Continuing the climb, a grand panorama of the Khumbu glacier and Nuptse massif unfolds. The final ascent to the rocky viewpoint of Kala Patthar places you in the midst of an unbelievable Himalayan panorama, featuring peaks, icefalls, and glaciers (weather permitting).

Descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and retrace your steps to Lobuche and down to Tughla. Instead of returning to Dingboche, take a different path descending along the Khumbu Khola valley to reach Pheriche (4,370m). Overnight in Pheriche.

Day 11: Trek to Namche(8+hrs, Approx. 20kms)
The hike down the Pheriche valley is long as it joins the Imja Khola valley, passing through Pangboche and Debuche. There is a brief climb to Tengboche monastery. From there, you descend to cross the river at Phunki Tenga at 3300m.

The final climb brings you to Kyangjungma, from where it is a gradual descent down to Namche Bazaar, where you can celebrate the completion of the Everest trek. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla(6-7hrs, Approx. 18kms)
Your final day of the trek will drop you back down to the Dudh Koshi River, crossing numerous suspension bridges and retracing your route past Jorsale, Monjo, Bengkar, Phakding, Ghat, and Choplung, before arriving back at Lukla. The last section from Ghat to Phakding is a steep step climb of approximately 3 kilometers. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu
With a bit of luck and favorable weather, you should have no trouble making your flight back to Kathmandu. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to pursue your interests at leisure. Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 14: Free day in Kathmandu
Today has been designated as a contingency day in case the flight from Lukla is canceled due to the unpredictable mountain weather, which is unfortunately quite common. If everything goes according to plan, you may spend this day at your leisure. You could go souvenir shopping or, if you prefer, request a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Day 15: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight homewards.

Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu

You will continue a short distance north to Swayambunath, one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the valley and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a hill, this sacred site provides a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2. In Kathmandu
Today’s itinerary includes Pashupatinath temple, Nepal’s most significant Hindu temple. From there, you will continue to the iconic Boudhanath Stupa, the largest and most revered Buddhist monument in Nepal.

At Boudhanath Stupa, you’ll have the opportunity to witness thousands of pilgrims engaging in the kora (ritual circumnavigation) around the stupa, offering a profoundly spiritual and cultural experience.

Later in the afternoon, you will visit the historic Patan Durbar Square, celebrated for its rich artistic heritage, Newari craftsmanship, and typical Newari culture. Patan boasts a collection of exquisite Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Key sites to explore in this area comprise the Durbar Square, the Patan Museum, Krishna Mandir, and the Baglamukhi Temple, all of which showcase the cultural and architectural splendor of the region. Day 4 Drive to Kande(1 hr/1770m)-Hike to Australian Camp(2hrs/2065m)
After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kande, which takes a little over an hour. Kande serves as the starting point of your hike. From Kande, you will begin a 2-hour uphill hike to Australian Camp. Australian Camp offers you with the breathtaking views of prominent peaks such as Machhapuchre, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and the Manaslu range.

Upon reaching Australian Camp, you will get into your lodges and get settled. After lunch depending on your preferences, and interests, you can hike further to Pothana, a beautiful village, which offers breathtaking views of the nearby Himalayas. After soaking in the scenic vistas, you will retrace back to Australian Camp. Overnight in Australian Camp.

Day 5. Hike to Phedi(1.5hr/1440m)-Drive to Pokhara(1hr)
Enjoy the early morning sunrise view from your hotel. After breakfast, you will descend to Dhampus village, another beautiful village. The hike to Dhampus is mostly downhill, offering a pleasant and easy trail. From Dhampus, you will continue further to Dhampus Phedi and drive to Pokhara.

In Pokhara, you will spend the day exploring various attractions such as Pumdikot, Japanese Peace Pagoda, Devis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, and the lakeside area. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 6. Drive to Kathmandu
Retrace your drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, check into your respective hotel, you’ll have the afternoon free. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Dagala Trek

Legion of trekkers have been drawn by the irresistible mystical charms of Bhutan’s mountains and its surreal exquisite landscapes. Dagala Trek Bhutan is one such trek, where in addition to its many small beautiful lakes (therefore also called thousand lakes trek) and its beautiful vistas, it is a one with fewer trekkers. Dagala trek follows a trail along the ridge-line of Dagala range, that separates Thimphu valley from the lower hills to the south with uninterrupted views in almost all direction. On a clear day, you can see not only the peaks of Bhutan, but could also see afar off peaks of Sikkim and Nepal as well. With exposed ridge line, the weather can also change dramatically within a short period.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Begin trek Gyenkha to Gur.
Distance 7 km, 5 hours, 550 m ascent, 210 m descent, camp altitude 3,290 m.
Drive short distance to south of Thimphu for an hour to Gyenekha village. The trek starts at beautiful Gynekha village and begins with a short descent to the river. After crossing the river you start climbing until you reach a huge rock platform from where you have a picturesque view of the below. After another two hours you reach Gur, an area of yak pastures located just below the main trail.
Overnight in tents.

Day 2: Gur- Lambatama.
On the second day, the trail takes you across the high ridges from where you can truly appreciate the rugged beauty of your surroundings and the mountain vegetation. The path winds through refreshing meadows adorned with wild flowers and asparagus (in spring). The first mountain pass you cross is marked by a huge cairn and gives a spectacular view of Kanjenjunga (Sikkim in India) and number of the Bhutanese Himalayan peaks. As you descend the pass you will be able to see the entirety of the Dagala mountain range including meadows and yak herder camps. Once you have descended into the Labatama valley you begin climbing gradually through the valley, passing several yak herder huts before you arrive at Uthso Tsho. The campsite is right next to the lake.
Overnight in tents.

Day 3: In Lambatama.
This day will be dedicated to relaxing and recuperating at Labatama. It is an ideal to take an excursion to any of three nearby lakes: Reli Tsho, Hen Tsho and Jama Tsho. There is an opportunity to engage in some trout fishing. Permits are required for fishing so you should let us know to make the necessary arrangements beforehand.
Overnight in tents. (For those who are short on time, this day could be removed)

Day 4: Labatama- Panka.
The trail climbs along the western side of Dala Tsho up to a saddle at 4,520m. From here onwards you will have a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayan peaks all through the descent. The mountain peaks visible include Mt. Everest (Nepal), Mt. Kanchenjunga (Sikkim), Mt. Jomolhari, Mt. Jichu Drake, Mt. Tshering Gang, Mt. Khangbum, Mt. Masang Gang, Mt. Tsende Gang and Mt. Gangche Ta. If you want an even better view, you can climb a peak close to the saddle with an altitude of 4,720m. From the saddle the path descends, passing some yak herder huts to Doccha Chhu. You follow the river for a while, but stay higher up on the slope to reach Panka with ascents and descents along the way.

Day 5: Pankha- Talakha-Chamgang- Paro.
This day entails the crossing of several passes but none of them require a major climb. Watch out for different varieties of blue poppy (June-July) and birds while in this area. After crossing the last pass, Tale La (4,180m) you start a long descent to Chamgang. However the new dirt road has come up quite a bit. If the road condition is good, you may only have to walk till the monastery saving few kilometers on foot. Meet your vehicle and drive to Paro, which takes about 2hrs. This evening we hope to visit Rimpung Dzong and others as per available time.

Druk Path Trek

The trek portion of this particular Drukpath is more strenuous than other Drukpath routes and so we consider this trek to moderately challenging. It is however the best way to do it if you can walk 6-7hrs a day on a moderate terrain. To get the full details, complete a Detailed Trip Info form.

Day 1: Begin Trek to Phajoding
The trek begins from Motithang (above Wind Horse Office and from next to Takin Preserve) at about 2500m. It is approximately around 5-6 km of steep hike uphill and could take 3hrs or more. The path goes through the forest of mostly blue pine, rhododendrons and as you reach Phajoding, the trees turn mostly to shrubs. Phajoding is a large monastic complex with 10 or so temples, and residences for the monks on extended retreats. You can visit some of these temples. The campsite is located at about 3700m. Overnight in tents.

Day 2: Trek from Phajoding to Simkota Tsho.
The trek is much tougher today as we gain altitude. From Phajoding a steep hike uphill for about 45 mins brings you to the ridge-top (4090m). However instead of going directly, you can climb for about 300m from the campsite to Thujedrak Goempa (3950m), a remote meditation center that clings to a side of a precipitous cliff. After the ridge top, your walk is gradual uphill along the ridge with great views of Dochula, Chomolhari and other peaks. Cross Labanla pass (4235m) and make a long descend through switchback trails to campsite near Simkotra Tso Lake (4100m). Approx. 11km/4-5hr trek. Overnight in tents

Day 3: Trek from Simkota to Janchulakha
From Simkotra, we will follow the main trail at first but instead of going to Jimilangtso, we will you use a direct route to Jangch Lakha. This part is expected to take 6-7hrs. Those who are good hiker, can also go to Jimilangtso and then come to Jangchulakha, a yak pasture located at 3750m. Overnight in tents

Day 4: Trek to Jeli Dzong, Jaydika and finish in Paro
Today’s hike is an enjoyable as you walk along the sides of ridge, through meadows and forests, to arrive in Jili Dzong after about 4hrs. You might occasionally see or hear monal pheasants. Jeli Dzong (monastery) is located on a promontory at 3540m with views of Paro and Tsaluna valley. The temple inside contains a large impressive statue of Buddha. Then begin a long descent through the dense forests of golden moss to a few settlements with apple orchards and finally arrive at road point after 2-3hrs downhill from Jeli Dzong. Meet the vehicle,and transfer to the hotel in Paro valley. Our service ends

Option B Drukpath Trek – 5 Days

This is slightly more strenuous then option A. The duration is shorter by day for the same distance. However this is the one of popular option on Drukpath trail.

Day 1: Begin trek from Thimphu to Phajoding
Walk steep uphill for about 5-6kms in about 3-5hrs and camp at about 3700m.

Day 2: Trek to Simkota
Trek for about 10km. in about 4-5hrs. At the start, it is really steep uphill for about an hour and reach the hightest point on this trek at Labanla at 4235m. Campsite near Simkotra lake is around 4100m

Day 3: Trek to Jimilangtso lake
Trek for about 11km/4hr and camp near the lake at 3870m. About 400m ascent/820m descent.

Day 4: Trek to Jangchulakha or Rabana
Climb up gradually and walk along the sides of ridges with many short ascents and decent to Yak pastures at Jangchulakha at 3760m or a short distance before at higher site of Rabana (3900m). Approx 11km -4hrs/ with 375m ascent and 370m decent.

Day 5: Trek to Jili Dzong and then downhill to end above Paro
Today’s hike (5-6hrs) is an enjoyable as you walk along the sides of ridge, through meadows and forests, to arrive in Jili ili Dzong (monastery) located on a promontory at 3540m with great views of the Himalayas and also of Paro and Tsaluna valleys on the either side. After visiting the temple, begin a long descent through the dense forests of golden moss to a few settlements with apple orchards and finally arrive at road point. Meet the vehicle,and transfer to the hotel in Paro

Drukpath Trek – 4 Days Option C
For those who are serious trekker and short on time, this is definitely the choice. The second and the third day of the trek are both long days of 7-8hours trek, making the trek quite strenuous. The trek is also commonly done.

Day 1: Begin trek from Paro to Jele Dzong
From your hotel in Paro, transfer to the trail head above Ta Dzong museum and begin trekking. About 4-5hr trek uphill ascending 1050m. Camp at 3570m.

Day 2: Trek to Jimilangtso lake
Visit Jele Dzong and trek for about 20km/7-8hr trek and camp near the lake at 3870m.

Day 3: Trek from Jemilangtso to Phajoding
Climb up gradually up too 4150m and descend to Simkota, which takes 4hrs. Then gradually trek up hill and climb to Laban La pass at 4210m, after which the trail makes a long and steep descent past Thujidrag to Phajoding. The campsite is near the hermitages and monasteries at 3700m. Total about 7–8hrs trek, about 21km.

Day 4: End with the trek in Thimphu
After visiting the temples and monasteries in Phajoding, walk downhill for about 5km/2-3hr to Motithang (2540m). Meet and transfer to your hotel or city center.

Option D Drukpath Tsaluna Trek – 2 days
This is a shorter alternate but not an easy one as the hikes are long.
You will miss out the alpine lakes but cover the first and last parts of Drukpath trek. It is also called Tsaluna trek. Horse or pack animals are not used on this trek, instead we bring supplies and large safari style tents with mattress by the vehicle across the valley (Lungta Comfort Camp). The advatage of this trek is that you camp at a lower altitude

Day 1: Thimphu – Phajoding -cross Pumela to Tsaluna
(Approx. 7hrs.). Start your trek from Thimphu (Takin Preserve) to Phajoding (3600m) in 2-3hrs (5km). Visit some of the temples and walk across the slopes of the ridge for less than 2hrs to Pumola pass (approx. 3750m). Then it is a long steep decent down into Tsaluna valley which could take up to 3hrs. Decend through the forests of spruce, juniper and through rhododendrons, pines and bamboo shrubs into the valley with small villages. Camp site is in the field on the knoll, after crossing the villages. Overnight in Lungta comfort camp (2800m)

Day 2: Trek to Jele Dzong – Paro
(Approx. 6 hrs.) Begin the walk up the hill to Jay-dikha village. Then climb up gradually through spruce, hemlock, fir and giant rhododendron forest to Jili Dzong (monastery) located on a promontory at 3540m with great views of the Himalayas and also of Paro and Tsaluna valleys on the either side. After visiting the temple, begin a long descent through the dense forests of golden moss to a few settlements with apple orchards and finally arrive at road point. Meet the vehicle,and transfer to the hotel in Paro

This itinerary brings you to the Sikkim side of Mt Kanchenjunga, up the forested hills and through alpine meadows, to the weather beaten trail, with beautiful lakes, glaciers in the changing clouds at mountain pinnacles. Spring bring forth rhododendron, orchids and magnolia in technicolor bloom – a running riot of colors. The climax is uninterrupted and surreal views of Mt Kanchenjunga at its glorious best and other peaks. Prelude to this is cultural visit with short walk in Gangtok, Yuksom for insights into living culture as well as acclimatization.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Bagdogra-Gangtok
Upon arrival at Bagdogra/NJP transfer to Gangtok – capital of Sikkim. In the evening you can take a stroll at MG Marg – a pedestrian boulevard and also visit the Lal Bazaar (now Kanchendzonga market). (Altitude 1700m/ Distance 135 kms/ 4-6 hrs drive). Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 2: In Gangtok
Full day tour of Gangtok starting with a visit to Enchey monastery from where you can have an excellent view of the mountains. Further visit Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom(closed Sunday), Do-Drul Chorten and the Institute of Tibetology(closed Sunday) which has an impressive collection of Tibetan artifacts and ancient manuscripts. After lunch drive to the opposite ridge to visit Rumtek Monastery. After the visit return back to Gangtok for overnight.

Day : 3 Gangtok – Yuksom
After breakfast, drive to Yuksam in West Sikkim – a trekker’s hub. It is also of historical importance as the place where the first Chogyal (King) of Sikkim was crowned in 1642. En-route visit tallest Buddha statue in Ravangla. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Evening we’ll rendezvous with our trekking staff, including the Sherpas, porters, and the cook. Overnight in Yuksom. (Alt. 1780m/134 kms/5-7 hrs).
Note: there are frequently some on going road work, so driving time may change for more than anticipated.

Day 4: Yuksom – Bakhim
After breakfast we start our trek in Sikkim’s pristine wilderness. We begin gently uphill following the Rathang river gorge, through dense forest and different varieties of orchids. After crossing the Paha Khola suspension bridge and the Prek Chu River we ascend steeply until we reach Bakhim. Overnight in Bakhim meadow. (6+ hrs trek 12km/2750m)

Day 5: Bakhim – Dzongri
After breakfast, we trek to Tsokha, a resettlement camp for Tibetan refugees and the last village encountered on the trek. This is where we get our first close up view of Mount Pandim. A steep climb above rhododendron forests will take us to Phedang. Continue uphill through mixed temperate forest to Dzongri. A brief climb beyond brings you to the camping site with views of Koktang(6,147m), Ratong, Kabru(7,338m), Kangchenjunga(8,586m), Simvo(6,815m) and Pandim(6,691m). Overnight in Dzongri. (10km – 5-6hrs trek/4030m)

Day 6: Dzongri – Laxmi Pokhari
Set off early enjoying the breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Kabru(7,000 m), Pandim(6,691 m) and the Rathong glacier along the way. The trial goes through rhododendron forest and pasture lands until Chamaray, from Chamaray a steep climb will land us to Laxmi Pokhari, a big lake in a deep crater. If you feel fit continue up to Kabur rock. Back to Dzogri for overnight. Overnight camping.

Day 7: Dzongri – Bikhbari
The trail from Dzongri to Bikhbar ascends and gradually descends till Bikhbari. (About12km/4-5hrs). Overnight camping.

Day 8: Excursion to Kanchanjunga base camp.(Chaurikhang and Rathong Glacier).
The trek to the Kanchenjunga Base Camp is a gradual ascent all the way. The Khanchenjunga base Camp is where the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute of Darjeeling conducts its Advanced Mountaineering Courses. From here, we get close-up views of Frey’s peak(5830 meters), Koktang (6,148 meters), Kabur and Rathong glacier. Explore and enjoy the splendid view and descend back to Bikhbari for overnight. Overnight camping.

Day 9: Bikhbari – Bakhim
Early morning after breakfast we retrace our step and trek back to Bakhim for overnight stay.

Day 10: Bakhim – Yuksom-Pelling
After breakfast trek downhill to Yuksom. Visit Dubdi monastery which is situated on the top of a lofty hill one thousand feet above Yuksam. After the visit descend down to Yuksom hop into the waiting vehicle and drive to Pelling for overnight stay. Overnight in a Pelling.

Day 11: Departure
After breakfast transfer to the airport/railway station for your journey homewards or to your next destination.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra-Drive to Darjeeling.(2042m/67kms/3-4hrs)
Upon arrival at Bagdogra airport, meet our representative and drive to Darjeeling. The road climbs up the hill with various curves till Kurseong, from here its a gentle down hill drive till Darjeeling. In the evening we can take a walk through Chowrastha mall road. Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 2: In Darjeeling
Today we have a full day in Darjeeling, take a short walk to visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(closed Thursday), further visit Tibetan Refugee Center – a rehabilitation center for Tibetan refugees(closed Sunday), Tenzing rock, Llyod’s Botanical garden and the Happy valley tea estate. In the afternoon visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda and the Dali monastery. Option is also available to take a joy ride on the UNESCO World Heritage toy train which makes en-route stop at the Batasia Loop(with extra cost). Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 3: Drive to Dhotrey(2600m/43km/2-3hrs)-Trek to Tumling. (2926m/8kms/3-4hrs)
Early morning drive to Dhotrey passing through narrow road with thickets of conifer and pine vegetation and begin our trek from Dhotrey. The trail follows a gentle gradient through rhododendron forest till Tonglu (3088 m), which requires 6 km to cover. Followed by 2 km hike over mostly gradual and descending trail until Tumling, a small Sherpa village, on a clear day it provides a magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga range. Overnight in Trekkers lodge.

Day 4: Trek to Kalipokhari.(3169m/15kms/5 hrs)
After breakfast trek through the Singalila National Park to Kalipokhari through Gairibas. The trail goes through bamboo glades and farmlands. From Gairibas the ascent is gradual until Kalipokhari. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 5: Trek to Sandakphu. (3,636m/7kms/3-4hrs)
After breakfast we hit the trail once again, the trail ascends gradually until Bikhey Bhanjyang, from here an steep ascent lands us to Sandakphu. Sandakphu, the highest point (3636m) in the Singalila range that provides uninterrupted 180o views of the entire Himalayan range including Mt Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Chomolhari, Pandim, Three Sisters, Kumbhakarna etc. Rest of the day is free to explore around. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 6: Trek to Molley.(3150m/18kms/6-7hrs/Descent-800m)
Wake up early to experience the sunrise over the Himalayan peaks. Climb up to the viewpoint, a small hillock nearby and look at the entire Himalayan range open up before you. After breakfast we hit the trail once again towards Molley. Today the hike is the longest, with a few ascent and descent across meadows and rhododendron forest and stunning mountain views all along the way. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 7: Trek to Rammam. (2453m/15kms/6hrs/ Descent-320m approx.)
After breakfast we continue our journey towards Rammam our next destination. The trek is a gradual descent through the Singalila National Park with dense pine, rhododendron forests and thick bamboo bushes where you have the chances of sighting the rare Red Panda among the bamboo groves. Overnight in trekkers lodge

Day 8: Trek to Sirikhola (12 km/2 hours)-Drive to Siliguri (126 km/ 4 hours)
Today the trek portion is relatively easy, the first part of the trek is almost level and then descend to the bridge at Sirikhola. At Sirikhola, board on to the waiting vehicle and drive to Siliguri via Mirik. Overnight in Siliguri.

Day 9. Departure.
After breakfast drive to the airport for your departure flight homewards.

Itinerary
Day 1. Arrive in Bagdogra–Drive to Namchi(1675m/95km/3-4hrs)
On arrival at the airport, meet our representative and drive to Namchi, a small town with the Kanchenjunga range at the backdrop. On arrival if time permits, pay a visit to the chardham complex. Overnight in Namchi.

Day 2: Drive to Yuksom(1850m/85km/4hrs)
Early morning visit Ngadak monastery. Subsequently after breakfast proceed towards Yuksom. On the way we take a break at Ravangla and visit the Buddha Park. After the visit continue to Yuksom, the first capital of erstwhile kingdom of Sikkim and the main trail head towards Mt.Khangchendzonga. We rendezvous with our trekking staffs in Yuksom. Overnight hotel in Yuksom.

Day 3: Trek to Tshoka (2950m/16kms/5-7hrs)
Today we begin our trek. The gradient is moderate to slightly difficult. The trail passes through sub tropical forest comprising of oaks, chest nuts, magnolias and orchids. Cross over Paha Khola and climb up to Sachen and trek until Prekchu river. After crossing the river it is a steep climb until Bakhim(2625m). The views of Mt. Pandim and Mt. Tenzinkay is astounding along with the view of Yuksom valley below. After a short break we continue with steep descent and ascent to Tsokha. Overnight in Tsokha.

Day 4: Trek to Dzongri(4000m/approx.10kms/5-6hrs)
From here on the trek starts to get serious with rapid altitude gain and rough trail conditions. The trail goes through forest of rhododendrons, following rocky terrain until Phedang (3200 m). After a break at Phedang, we continue gaining more altitude with a change in vegetation from temperate to alpine. The trail climbs up along the ridge and descends down to the verdant meadows of Dzongri surrounded by mountains on all sides, offering surreal alpine landscapes and vista of Peaks such as Koktang 6,147m, Ratong, Kabru 7,338m, Kangchenjunga 8,586m, Simvo 6,815m and Pandim 6,691m. Overnight in Dzongri

Day 5: In Dzongri (acclimatization day)
Early morning hike up the ridge till Dzongri peak for sunrise view of Kanchendzonga range and the Onglathang valley on the back drop (1hour trip). After breakfast, hike to Gingay Dara with its panoramic views of the Rathong Valley and Rathong Glacier as well as the snowy peaks of Koktang, Kabru, Frey and mountains to the south of the kanchenjunga. We will also be able to see in the distance the H.M.I. Base Camp, the area designated for high altitude mountain training. The hike to Gingay Dara is moderate, about four hours round trip. Overnight in Dzongri.

Day 6: Trek to Lamuney(Approx.9kms/6-7hrs)
Today the hike is relatively moderate with a mixture of gentle descent and ascent. The hike traverses through lush green meadows and dense Rhododendron forest. After crossing the Prekchu river it is a gentle ascent to the meadows of Thangsing. From here the hike is on a gradual gradient through meadows with grazing yaks. The ascent becomes more steep and the terrain becomes more rocky as we near Lamune campsite. Overnight in Lamuney.

Day 7: Trek to Goechela-Thangsing(4948m/7-8hrs)
An early departure(as early as 3am) is strongly advised to reach the view point to see the first ray of the sun striking the Kanchenjunga range and moreover we will have more time to spend at Samiti lake on return. The trail goes through the glacial moraine with views of Mt Pandim all the time and descends to Zemathang. A tough scramble will finally bring us to the view point with the view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the smaller peaks of Rathong and Kabru. After enjoying the sunrise view, return downhill to Lamune for lunch. After lunch, walk down to Samiti lake and spend some time around the lake, before continuing to Thangsing for overnight.

Day 8: Trek to Tshoka via Phedang(Approx.16kms/5-6hrs/1000m descent).
From here on we start losing altitude as it’s largely downhill. Instead of returning to Dzongri, we will use a more direct route, following the trail to the left that goes through Rhododendron forest all along the way with Mt Pandim and other peak to the left till Phedang. After a short rest in Phedang the trail to Tshoka is a steep descent. Overnight in Tsokha.

Day 9:Trek to Yuksom(17kms/5hrs)
Today the trek is much easier as it is almost downhill walk until Sachen. From Sachen the trail goes up and down generally losing altitude. With a few ups and downs finally we reach the comforts of our hotel in Yuksom. Overnight in Yuksom.

Day 10: Drive to Turuk
Drive to Turuk. Along the way stop at the small town of Pelling and visit Pemayangtse monastery and the ruins of Randentse, the 1st capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Sikkim. After the visit continue our journey to Turuk Heritage Home, located in a charming village with good views. Your stay will be in Turuk Kothi, a Heritage Homestay. Overnight in Turuk.

Day 11: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight. You can also extend your trip to Gangtok or Darjeeling etc.

Embark on a journey along the Druk Path, following a traditional mule route through some of Bhutan’s most breathtaking high-altitude alpine wilderness. Day 1: Arrival in Paro(D)

Arrive in Paro, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Exploring Paro (B/L/D)
Spend a full day touring the Paro valley. Visit Bondey village, hike to Dzrongdrakha monastery, and drive to Chele Pass for a chance to see Mt. Jumolhari on a clear day and hike to Kila Nunnery. Return to Paro for overnight stay.

Day 3: Paro’s Cultural Icons (B/L/D)
Dedicate the day to hiking the renowned Taktsang Monastery. In the afternoon, visit Drugyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Prepare for the upcoming trek. Overnight in Paro.

Day 4: Trek to Zele Dzong (B/L/D)
Begin your trek from Taa Dzong at Damchuna, ascending gradually to Zele Dzong, then descend to the campsite. Trek duration: approx. 3 hours. Camp overnight below Zele Dzong.

Day 5: Journey to Jangchulakha (B/L/D)
Trek along the ridge with views of Thimphu and Paro. Camp overnight at Jangchulakha (3570 m).

Day 6: Toward Jimilangtso Lake (B/L/D)
Trek for about 7-8 hours, covering 15km, to camp near Jimilangtso Lake at 3950m. Overnight in camp.

Day 7: Phajoding Trek (B/L/D)
Gradually ascend to 4150m and descend to Simkota (4 hrs). Continue uphill to Laban La pass (4210m) and then steep descent to Phajoding (3750m). Trek duration: 7-8 hours, 21km. Overnight in camp.

Day 8: Descend to Thimphu (B/L/D)
Visit temples at Phajoding and trek downhill to Motithang (5km/3hr). Visit the Takin sanctuary and other sites in Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu hotel.

Day 9: Thimphu Cultural Tour (B/L/D)
Visit Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Monastery, National Library, and the Institute of Traditional Medicine. Post-lunch, explore the Textile Museum, Handicraft Emporium, paper factory, and Tashichho Dzong. Evening free to explore Thimphu. Overnight in hotel.

Day 10: Departure from Paro
Transfer to Paro Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Bhutanese trekking adventure.
